Review: It takes a Village.

Every Time I talk about fan fictions I should read on Reddit or Ponychan Threads I ALWAYS, ALWAYS
Get "It Takes a Village"
This finished recently and I have had my eye on it, ever since it started getting popular
So yeah we're reviewing it now.
Sound good?
Cool.
Review after the break
TO AVOID SPOILERS WHAT IS REVIEWED HERE IS THE FIRST CHAPTERS.

I READ IT FOR THE PLOT

The plot is simple enough, Spike's a big boy now, he barely fits in the library any more. So Ponyville decides to work together and help Spike stay in the town by building him a home and helping him stay in control of his body.
It's fairly original, and it's the type of thing they would put in the actual show.
It really doesn't make that big of an impact on me, I would say that it takes massive adorable to make any impact on me, to much pony high life, yeah guns, alcohol, dark and complex character development.
I'm spoiled, but yeah it's a good plot

NO I CAN'T THINK OF A CLEVER PUN FOR PORTRAYAL

Like I said in the above section It reads like a real episode sort of like "Sunny Skies all day long"
I can't really think of anything else, besides that Spike is portrayed as this big child, he doesn't want anything to change but obviously has no control over it.
A complaint I have is there really isn't any clear measurement to how tall Spike actually is. In one scene he could fit in the library and the next they say he can see over the roof.
There are a lot of pictures to describe it, but yeah minor complaint.

WHO WAS BEST PONY?

Sorry Spike ain't a pony.
It has to be Big Macintosh.
He is TOTALLY a good guy in this, he is like.
"Eyup, I am going to help you because I like you Spike, not because Twilight asked"
Sure Twilight is cool and nice, but she loses point's for acting like a major douche at the start.
It was uncalled for. I wouldn't be angry because my friend knocked my vase off a table because his feet are too wide.
That's like being angry at your room mate because his hair is too long and he use's all the shampoo.

TODAY I LEARNED...

In conclusion.
The story is solid and is a lot of fun. I didn't like it but like I said I was pretty much introduced to fan fiction because of Fallout Equestria. with it's dark story. It's amazingly vibrant character development, huge 3 dimensional world and it's awesome dedicated fanbase.
I have been spoiled.
But yeah "It Takes a Village" is a fun read, It has it's strong moments, and it has it's heart string tuggers and it's sad moment's but in all it is a lot of fun.
Have a good one guy's
